ICG has released a new report on Burundi which charts the way forward on the three currently crucial sticking points of political parties, political prisoners and freedom of the press. The report "Prisonniers politiques, liberté de la presse et partis politiques au Burundi: les enjeux du débat" is currently available in French only. An English translation will be published shortly --> See http://www.crisisweb.org for the full report ICG ZIMBABWE ------------------------- Unless urgent action is taken to defuse tensions over land ownership, achieve a working relationship with the new opposition party and rescue the economy, Zimbabwe is headed for major public unrest, or possibly worse, by the end of this year, according to a new report by the International Crisis Group (ICG). The ICG report, entitled "Zimbabwe: At the Crossroads" urges donor governments, the European Union, the Commonwealth and international financial institutions to make further support to the Harare government contingent upon action to restore the rule of law, seriously address the country's economic crisis and end Zimbabwe's military involvement in the Democratic Republic of Congo. --> See http://www.crisisweb.org for the full report ------------------------------------- CrisisWeb - http://www.crisisweb.org ------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send a message with "unsubscribe crisisweb <your email address>" to mdaemon@tmg.co.uk ------------------------------------- # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: majordomo@bbs.thing.net and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: nettime@bbs.thing.net
