just to point out;

what proportion of profit does MP3.com redistribute to artists? how does
that compare to say Sony Music? your personal position is very
interesting, but its the type of thing Metallica might well say about
*their* record company. 

So. I don't your statement changes my position at all. Of course I am
aware that *some* mp3.com artists get paid decent money; I was
exaggerating a bit by saying they *never* pay, but overall, Mp3.com is
STILL just the new corporate fuck screwing artists -- just with a
different model to the one record companies use.
