Re: <nettime> Making a Killing from Hunger |
can someone explain how this is much different from what Enron was trying to do worldwide, namely intensively manipulate supply and thereby secure huge profits? if so, was that damnable on the grounds of conspiracy theorizing as well? I think speculation as an underlying motor seems to be rather easy to accept, esp. since many the other commodities subject to worldwide speculation have already had boom-bust cycles in the near term. Enron, of course, also imploded. So did so many speculating in the housing bubble and the tech bubble. Of course, all other explanations are welcome, too. belatedly, martha r # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: http://mail.kein.org/mailman/listinfo/nettime-l # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: nettime@kein.org
