Introducing LiSa - Workshop 

Wednesdays 19.00h - 22.00h: 
6 sessions from December 4th, excluding 25th and January 1st.

The workshop 'introducing LiSa' will be an introduction into working with LiSa as a 
performance tool, using both live sampling and playback of pre-recorded samples. It will be 
a hands-on workshop, where all participants have access to a complete setup. 6 setups will 
be available, and the maximum number of available places is 12. 

The workshop will consist of 6 Wednesday evening classes from 19.30-22.00, starting on 
December 4th 2002 (no classes on December 25th and januari 1st). All workshops are held 
at STEIM, Amsterdam. 

The first class will handle the basics of electronic music on the Macintosh operating system, 
explaining MIDI, setting up an environment to be able to handle live sampling and playing 
pre-recorded samples and give an overview of LiSa. The next three classes will explain the 
basic concepts of LiSa (playing samples, recording samples, using different ways of playing 
samples, using controllers), while the last two classes will go into detail about more 
in-depth parts of LiSa (patterns, modulators). 

Basic knowledge about working in a Macintosh environment is required and some 
experience with audio-hardware like a mixing board and a microphone is recommended.
