Ontdek en deel de geheime plekjes van je eigen mobiele apparaat: functionaliteit, verbinding en persoonlijkheid. Kelli Dipple, afgelopen zomer artist in residence bij het Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst, geeft tijdens de e-culture fair een crash course over persoonlijk gebruik van mobiele devices. Maak deel uit van een narratieve belevenis die plaatsvindt in en rondom de verschillende locaties van de e-culture fair waarbij de deelnemers ieder hun persoonlijke bijdrage geven met SMS-berichten, beeldberichten, telefoontjes, voicemail, beltonen, chat en BlueTooth. Deze ontdekkingreis gaat gepaard met discussies over draadloze netwerken, communicatie, interface ontwerp en toestemming

Personal Devices is een samenwerking tussen Virtueel Platform en het Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst, Montevideo/Time Based Arts.

De e-culture fair is hét evenement op het gebied van nieuwe media. Internationale innovatieve projecten uit zowel de culturele sector, het bedrijfsleven, de wetenschap en het onderwijs komen hier samen. Het is een digitale dagmarkt die het midden houdt tussen een beurs en een tentoonstelling. Maar op deze beurs wordt niets verkocht en op deze tentoonstelling zijn de makers van het tentoongestelde zelf aanwezig. Zij leggen hun ideeën uit, tonen de resultaten en bieden je de mogelijkheid om alles zelf uit te proberen.

Discover and share the nooks and crannies of your own mobile device: functionality, connectivity and personalisation. Kelli Dipple, artist in residence at The Netherlands Media Art Institute last summer, will be giving a data exchange workshop around the e-culture venues. Participants will be contributing to the development of an evolving narrative journey, using SMS text messaging, picture messaging, voice calls, voice messages, ring tones, chat and BlueTooth features. 
The exploration and instruction will be contextualized by a discussion on wireless networking, communication, interface design and permission.

They explain the ideas behind the products, and offer visitors the opportunity to test out their prototypes.
