[Nettime-nl] [ STEIM ] Concert Announcement Thursday February 19th

STEIM presenteert donderdag 19 februari in het kader van de No Backup 
concertserie een avond met B M B con. en OfficeR(6).


B M B con. (Roelf Toxopeus, Willem 't Hooft, Justin Bennett)

Al sinds 1989 onderzoeken de leden van B M B con. relaties tussen 
geluid en beeld, performer en publiek, tijd en ruimte, low- en hi-tech, 
tijdens hun zowel legendarische als erratische acties. STEIM heeft veel 
van deze acties mogen meemaken: barkrukmuziek, versterkte wormen, 
Marshall stacks, inbrekers door het dak, Rodeo-style punk covers, 
chemische proeven in de kelder, speelgoedverbrandingen en heel veel 
audiovisuele feedback. Vandaar dat wij niet weten wat we kunnen 
verwachten. Mischien weten ze het zelf niet eens. Laat je verrassen, 
maar let op: wees er op tijd bij want wat ze ook doen, B M B con. houdt 
het altijd kort!

OfficeR gebruikt een zich continu uitbreidend palet aan structuren die 
de vorm van de composities bepalen, zonder de directe 
actie/reactie-energie en 'split-second' beslissingsmomenten te 
verliezen. Daardoor blijven de composities zeer dynamisch en is het 
altijd spannend om de interactie tussen de spelers te volgen.

OfficeR is een deel van het N collectief; een trans-europees collectief 
van elektronische en akoestische muzikanten, die voornamelijk vanuit 
Amsterdam werken in verschillende formaties aan verschillende projecten 
tussen verschillende disciplines.

B M B con. (Roelf Toxopeus, Willem 't Hooft, Justin Bennett)

Since 1989, during the both legendary and erratic actions, the members 
of B M B con are doing research about the relations between sound and 
image, performer and audience, time and space, low and hi tech. STEIM 
has experienced many of these actions: barstool music, amplified worms, 
Marshall stacks, burglars on the roof, rodeo style punk covers, 
chemical experiments in the cellar, toy burnings and lots of 
audiovisual feedback. That's why we don't know what to expect.
Let yourself be surprised, but note: be on time because whatever they 
do, B M B con performances are short!

They use an expanding catalogue of structures that define the relative 
shape of the piece, the type of material that needs to be generated and 
other structural properties and goals of the piece without losing the 
immediate action/reaction energy and split-second decision making that 
creates a very dynamic and exciting interaction between all players at 
all times.

OfficeR is part of the N collective; a pan-european collective of 
electronic and acoustic musicians based mainly in Amsterdam and working 
in many different formations on many different projects with many 
different disciplines.
