Avond met Parsons School of Design uit New York in de Waag op woensdag 
19 oktober / Evening with the School of Design, New York in the Waag on 
Wednesday 19 October

Voor het Waag Society-project 'Scottie' is het projectteam in gesprek 
met de Parsons School of Design in New York. Woensdagavond presenteert 
een afvaardiging van deze designopleiding hun eigen werk en werk van hun 
studenten in het Theatrum Anatomicum. Aan het woord komen:

Parsons is een 'design based' opleiding waar aandacht is voor innovatie 
vanuit technologisch, design en menselijk perspectief. 'Scottie' is een 
recent gestart Waag Society-project waarin onderzoek wordt gedaan naar 
toepassingen die mensen die zich op verschillende plaatsen bevinden in 
staat stelt op een persoonlijke manier met elkaar om te gaan. Te denken 
valt aan een toepassing die regelmatig contact met familie en vrienden 
biedt aan een ziekenhuispatient.


Waag Society and Parsons School of Design in New York have recently 
started discussions concerning the Waag Society-project ‘Scottie”. A 
delegation of Parsons will present their work and the work of their 
students on Wednesday evening in the Theatrum Anatomicum. Presenters are:

Parsons focuses on creating engaged citizens and outstanding artists, 
designers, scholars and business leaders through a design-based 
professional and liberal education. Parsons students learn to rise to 
the challenges of living, working and creative decision making in a 
world where human experience is increasingly designed. The 'Scottie' 
project focuses on mediating intimacy/closeness/belonging between people 
who are physically in different locations, e.g. when hospitalized for a 
longer period of time.
