Walter’s ongelukkige flashback daargelaten en het eeuwige dilemma tussen de voordenkers en doeners - met onderstaande concluderende alinea van Sebastian Olma ben ik het wel van harte eens. Het gaat niet om De Zwijger als zodanig, maar om een discours dat de ‘issue at stake’ volledig mist en hooguit op een aantal affectieve register een aangename resonantie tot stand brengt.

Politiek gaat het erom dat steden als Amsterdam en vele anderen worden verkracht door ‘haute finance’ en de uitverkoop van publieke en collectieve functies aan private equity - dat is een wereldwijd probleem en daar moet echt een einde aan komen. 

Daarvoor is een aangename affectieve resonantie niet genoeg om de zaak in beweging te krijgen, noch een lange rij adjectieven, for that matter…
