Live conversation with Razvan Ion

Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 19.00 hours

Oliver Ressler will discuss the alter-globalization movement along the path of some of the projects he worked on in the last couple of years. He produced a video on the hour-long encirclement of demonstrators by the police at a demonstration against the World Economic Forum in 2001 in Salzburg, and one on the âDisobbedientiâ (with Dario Azzellini). âWhat Would It Mean To Win?â (with Zanny Begg) was filmed on the blockades at the G8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany in June 2007 and focuses on the current state of the alter-globalization movement. Ressler created banners for demonstrations (with David Thorne) and was involved in the self-organized collaborative art project Holy Damn It (www.holy-damn-it.org ), that produced 50.000 posters to mobilize for the resistance movements against the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. Through his work Ressler outlines different strategies to intervene with art in political movements.
