Prix Ars Electronica of the ORF in Upper Austria

Beginning January 1, 2000, computer artists around the world are once again
invited to send their works to Linz to compete for the Golden Nicas, Awards
of Distinction and Honorary Mentions.

DEADLINE: 27 March 2000

The Prix Ars Electronica 2000 is announced internationally in the categories
of .net, Interactive Art, Digital Musics, Computer Animation and Visual
Effects, and throughout Austria with the competition cybergeneration - u19
freestyle computing.
Works will be selected by five juries of international experts.
The awards presentation will take place on September 4, 2000 at the ORF
Upper Austrian Regional Studio.
The exhibition Cyberarts 2000 during Ars Electronica will show a selection
of the prize-winning works from all the competition categories at the O.K
Center for Contemporary Art.
Subsequent to the festival, Siemens, donator of the Prix Ars Electronica,
will take this exhibition on tour.
During the Ars Electronica Festival, the prize-winners from each category
will present their works in public lectures and discussions.
In addition to presentations at the festival, the Prix Ars Electronica is
documented with the book "Cyberarts 2000" (Springer Verlag Vienna/New York),
with videos, CD, CD-ROM and via Internet.

GENERAL ENTRY REGULATIONS

IMPORTANT!

   * Only one work per participant may be entered per category.
   * We request that no originals be submitted, as the materials will not be
     returned.
   * For production reasons, it is imperative that you submit all the
     required material on time to meet the deadline of March 27, 2000
     (postmarked).
   * Entries without the accompanying materials will not be accepted.
   * Each participant will receive a copy of the book documentation
     "Cyberarts 2000 / International Compendium Prix Ars Electronica" as
     acknowledgment. The book will be mailed automatically to each
     participant at the end of 2000.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

   * For organizational reasons, we request that you please register your
     entry ONLINE
   * Please be sure to include a print-out of your complete submitted ONLINE
     entry form with your original signature with your entry. Click here to
     go to the online entry.
   * As soon as your material (tapes, DATs, etc.) has been received, you
     will automatically receive confirmation of your participation via
     e-mail!
   * DEADLINE March 27, 2000 (Postmarked)!
