Re: AW: Syndicate: Fwd: Do no longer exhibit in Austria! (fwd) |
Dear Romana, dear all, You have to know that I strongly disagree to join to any artistic boycott, agressive messages - following EU governments decision - by artists and intellectuals (even radically than the original initiative). Artist better should go there and express their point of view, even their political opinions if they have such, though I think that is not the main goal of art... It is much better to do this in situ. And undertake the risk of direct confrontation in case... This might mean some help. To stay far enough and send humanistic and discriminative appeal from the far: this strategy absolutely fits to the strategy of the opposed. You all have to know that. with my very bests miklos (&:some more remarks below) At 07:08 PM 2/2/00 +0100, you wrote: dear syndicates Dear Mr. Fleck, first - not only the artists in Austria are afraid and ashamed about the political developments in Austria second - I can not agree on your strategy - I mean your pladoyee for 'let's isolation the austrian cultural scene' I do have memory and in it the sense of isolation we lived some ten-fifteen years ago and before in Hungary. I might say that isolation do not help, but the opposite. Subject:          Do no longer exhibit in Austria! (fwd)    Date:          Wed, 2 Feb 2000 09:35:58 +0100 (MET) .... Nantes, 2.2.2000 Dear friends, .... the death of Vaclav Havel, whole Central Europe can burn in the same way like Austria now. The Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. are ready to follow this political choice. I do not think so. And if there is a danger like that, it is not specific regarding the region (see Belgium, or France in this context). And this "etc." after the series of different countries and cultures in one line means less understanding than necessary.... 1. NO LONGER EXHIBIT OR COOPERATE WITH AUSTRIA You mean: stop the Syndicate lists "aec.at" extension? Stop to cooperate Public Netbase after their previous conflict with the party I do not wish to name now? I hope these examples are enough.
