Isabelle Schwarz writes: Dear colleagues, RE: Phare Project - Recruitment of a Project Manager for Macedonia Within the framework of the PHARE project "Cultural Development in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", KulturKontakt in Vienna is looking for a long-term expert to work as general project manager in Macedonia (18 months on site probably starting in the second half of 1998). "The immediate objectives of the programme are to strenghten the capability of the Ministry of Culture and cultural institutions to manage and sustain cultural activities and heritage in the context of political and economic reform, to develop its ties with the EU institutions both in cultural exchanges and in the conservation of monuments and artefacts, and to realise the potential of its culture and heritage in the development of the economy". The candidate must originate from an EU member state and have ca. 15 years work experience and experience in Central and Eastern Europe, notably in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
