Syndicate: festival of film and new media on art

Dear syndicate members,

 

I would like to inform you that the 1st International Festival of Film and New Media on Art of Athens just closed its doors after  five days of a stimulating film and cd-rom program on more than 12 domains of the arts.  It is estimated that over 2500 people visited the multimedia installations, attended the conferences and viewed the films.

 

  -The best creative documentary award was given to CAMESI:LE THEATRE DES SIGNES by Adriano Kestenholtz from Switzerland.

  -The best documentary of television production award went to THE FUNDAMENTAL GILBERT AND GEORGE by Gerald Fox from England.

  -The special jury award was given to ROSAS DANST ROSAS by Thierry De Mey from Belgium.

 

The film jury was consisted by Rodney Wilson from BBC, Paul Salmona from Louvre, Boris Penth from german Tempomedia, director Thanasis Retzis, and poet and film critic Andreas Pagoulatos.

 

 

  -The cd-rom LE CRI NEERLANDAIS DEFILE SANS PUBLIC from Holland was awarded best cd-rom on art while AROUND BARCELONA by Vincent Gullard from spain was awarded a special mention.

 

The cd-rom jury was consisted by Max Bruinsma, editor of EYE, Manthos Santorinaios,intermedia artist and Yiannis Skourogiannis, multimedia designer and film director.

Other guests included Martine Debard form Centre georges Pombidou, directors Christian Boustani, Pandora Mouriki, Adriano Kestenholtz and multimedia designer Nicolas Roope from Antirom.
