FIRST NAMES CONFIRMED FOR AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT
Jeff Mills (US), Los Chicharrons, Le Funkubine, Organic
Audio, Xavier Fischer Trio (D), Extince (NL) and Tim 'Love' Lee (UK)
are just a few of the names that will perform at the 2001 edition
of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Taking place 15, 16 and 17 November
in Amsterdam, over 100 DJs and artists are expected to take part in
the night program of the event, that is widely known as the ultimate
platform for professionals in the dance and electronic music sphere.
The ADE consists of a day program in Felix Meritis - a converted theatre
on one of Amsterdam's canals - and a night program in Escape, Melkweg,
Paradiso and a number of other clubs in Amsterdam's city centre. |

Night
The
(in)famous Chemistry club in Escape hosts a XXXL Chemistry on Saturday,
with a special program that continues until deep in the Sunday
Apart from the official night program, a multitude of parties and
club nights are being set up now, turning Amsterdam into the center
of the dance music world from 15 to 17 November. Whether it's electro,
garage, techno, drum & bass, funky grooves, club or avantgarde
you fancy, the ADE has something for everyone. |
Day
While the emphasis at night is on bringing the best new and upcoming
artists to Amsterdam, the daytime conference focuses on networking
and meeting people, while a number of panels and meetings on various
subjects concerning dance music are held. Subjects include the future
of electronic & dance music, European dance in the USA, radio
& internet, remarkable marketing concepts, plus entertaining verging
on the hilarious meetings such as the demolition demo panels and a
meeting under the enigmatic guise of 'Where did I go wrong
?'
Kodwo Eshun, author of More Brilliant Than The Sun, conducts a lecture
on history and developments of electronic and dance music. The ADE
organisation has invited both Tommy Boy label owner Tom Silverman
and Chic guitar player and renowned producer Nile Rodgers for keynotes
in the ADE panel program.
With over 1400 professional participants expected - next to 25.000
clubgoers - the ADE experiences a 30 % rise in attendance this year.
The Amsterdam Dance Event offers a unique opportunity in getting a
large group of movers and shakers in the music industry interested
in new artists and new music.

Media
& radio
All the main European dance music magazines - both paper and online
- send representatives to the ADE, giving acts some of the best thinkable
international exposure. The ADE website, online since May 10, gives
regular updates on news and program. Through Dutch national Radio
3FM, the ADE night program is broadcast live live to the European
Broadcasting Union network, providing pan-european exposure for artists
and DJs performing at the ADE. |
